St Andrew's Day Results
/With the course closed last Thursday 22 players were keen to brave a freezing morning to play. Despite the conditions, scoring was impressive, Jim Walker winning with 23 points, Brian Robson coming second on 19 points. Birdies were recorded by Roger Key, Brian Taylor, David Wallace and Jim Walker. In these conditions we should probably have a nearest the green prize at the 7th as to stop on the winter green is almost impossible.
Sadly we lost George Raeburn this week . A really nice man who will be sadly missed.
Our Xmas lunch is eagerly anticipated next week when this year's trophy winners will be announced.
Results for 16th November
/Despite early morning rain and a cool westerly 21 golfers enjoyed a pleasant morning. Ian Tate played some lovely golf to win with 20 points, Brian Robson returning 17 points for second. Ian was also nearest at the 7th [2 weeks in succession] . George Langlands contributed the only birdie at 9.

Results for 26/10 and 2/11
/For 26/10 our results:
Our newly trained scorer, Sandy Macfarlane, was in the chair and did a splendid job.
With the putting still a bit difficult due to the greenkeepers work and the heavy dew, 22 played and Alistair Lambie was the clear winner on 22 points with John Forsyth second on 19 points. Richard Edmonds had a 2 on No 7 and Steve Farrar was nearest on No7.
For 02/11 our results:
With Sandy still in the chair 19 played on a glorious, though squelchy, autumn morning when the colours of the trees reminded us of the tweeds that Bernat Klein used to create based on these colours.
George Tucker was first with 19 points in a closely contested match. For the second week running John Forsyth was second with 18 points.
Brian Robson was very close at No 7 to win the nearest the pin and to make a birdie.
....and the 12 October results.
/Heavy prolonged rain in the previous 24 hours coupled with tining of the greens made for difficult conditions. Ian Tate rose to the challenge returning 23 points [off a 9 handicap] to win, he also birdied 9 and was nearest the pin at 7. Graham Mackie was second with 19 points while David Wallace returned to the birdie trail at 7.

Star man was Gordon Fisher who was first on net 30,birdied 4 and 7 where he was also nearest the pin winning a total of 5 balls-a highly unusual event. Second on net 32 was John Napier with Bill Hardcastlerecording a birdie at 9.
Results 17th August
/The good conditions of a beautiful summer's morning were not reflected in the scoring, which was very poor. Recently sub-30 scores were required for a top 5 finish.To-day 34 was the lowest score shared by Ken Davey and Ronnie Watt, Ken winning on countback. Harvey Robertson recorded the only birdie at 9 [his sartorial choice for the morning being much admired!] while George Langlands was nearest the pin at the 7th having lost his glasses-there is a message there somewhere. 29 played.

It doesn't get much better! 22nd June
/Wow - what a spectacular day!!
On a day when the golf course was looking truly magnificent, the 28 starters responded with an equally magnificent display.
Leading the field to rapturous acclaim was our 'Elder Statesman', Steve Baczkowski, who won with a splendid nett 27 (gross 49).
He was closely followed by three on nett 29.
After a countback, second was our summer Kiwi visitor, Donald Millar, who insists that he is a Lions supporter.
On top of that we had four birdies - Sandy Macfarlane (who lipped out for eagle), Steve Farrar and Bill Hardcastle all birdied the ninth (despite the acting coordinator trying to argue that in the conditions the ninth was really a par 4); and Gordon Fisher birdied the fifth.
To complete the ball feast, Chris Beaumont was nearest at the seventh.
Well done guys!
