Results for 7th October and Happy Birthday, Steve!

A mild, calm and dry Autumn morning encouraged 21 players out. Scoring was generally good with Ian Tate taking the honors returning 20 points. Sandy Morris was second with 19 points. Birdies there were from Ken Davey, Graham Mackie and David Wallace, David also floating an excellent iron into the 7th for nearest the pin.

Keith Ackerman was welcomed to the group.

Our revered elder TAM, Steve Baczkowski, had kept it very quiet that he was 95 on this day. A Birthday Ball hardly seems adequate for such an achievement!

Results for 30th September

On what was probably the worst Thursday of the year so far, 15 heroes ventured out into the rather wet rain while the rest watched from the warmth of the clubhouse.

Out on his own in first place was Alister Lambie with 20 points and Brian Robson just headed off the chasing pack on 16 points.

23 players enjoyed a benign autumn morning with some good scoring. 5 returned 18 points but were outgunned by Sandy Morris on 21 points followed by Richard Edmonds on 20. The birdie machine [Ken Davie] birdied the 6th while George Langlands, in the absence of any other claimants, claimed nearest the pin at 7 the hard copy evidence of this having been removed by persons unknown.

Bill McMillan was welcomed as our newest member.

Congratulations were in order to our founding member Jim McAuslin who returned a score of 94 years young this week. Thankfully Jim declined the offer of a ball for each year, graciously accepting the usual birthday ball.

Congratulations also to Stevie and his team for the presentation of the course, in particular the greens.

Next week we play for the John Forsyth putter when only the putts on the greens count.

David Wallace rediscovered his proper golf swing and putting stroke to score 19 points including birdies at 4 and 7. Steve Baczkowski and John Forsyth also scored 19 points.

With a credible 21 points Brian Taylor took first place. Sandy Macfarlane, Bill Hardcastle and Brian Robson all tied on 20 points, Sandy taking second place with an impressive 9 points on the last 3 holes.

Warner Hardie reinforced the end of his birdie drought with a birdie at 3 following the one at the 5th last week.

Ken Davie birdied the 9th for the third week in a row-I think this means he can take it home and put it on the mantlepiece for a year-good luck with that!

Results for July 1st

A beautiful summer's morning encouraged 18 players out on the course. Steve Farrar recorded his first win of the year with 22 points.

Eric Ward and George Cunningham both came home with 20 points, Eric shading second on the countback.

A pleasant summer's morning with the course in excellent condition encouraged 30 players to compete for the Roddie McAlpine Gavel.

As per custom the winner will be revealed at the Xmas lunch -Covid and other things permitting!

Despite the good conditions many of the guys struggled to score, at least half returning less than 15 points.

Highlights were provided in the form of birdies by Bill Hardcastle [4th], Ken Davie [9th] and Ian Tate [7th].

Snow in May!! Results for 6th May

Because of snow on the course we had a late start and the group split over the front and back nines.

David Wallace found his old form returning 19 points on the front nine with Tony Kinder following closely behind on 18 points.

Not to be outdone Owen Butler also scored 19 points on the back nine with Brian Robson second on 17 points.

Handicaps will not be adjusted because of the unusual circumstances.

Results for 22nd April

A lovely spring morning welcomed 28 players including those returning from 'aw the airts' ie Penicuik.

The return certainly suited Jim Walker who returned a 5 pointer and two 4 pointers in amassing a grand total of 27 points. The record books will have to be checked. Second on 25 points [which would normally win] was George Tucker repeating his success of two weeks ago. Hot stuff from both to match the weather.

Everyone is looking forward to to the return of post golf socialising albeit with the required disciplines.

Results for 15th April
