At Peebles Golf Club, we have two talented teaching professionals in Steve Johnston and Ailsa Murphy, offering a fantastic range of coaching services to members and visitors alike.
Working in the Club’s Academy and Driving Range with their own dedicated Swing Studio, both Steve - an Advanced PGA Professional - and Ailsa, a fully qualified PGA professional, are highly experienced coaches who work with golfers of all ages and abilities.
You can now book lessons online, giving you access to their coaching diaries to find a date and time that suits.

Steve Johnston
Steve Johnston joined Peebles in 2015 from the Roxburghe Golf Club and he has become one of Scotland’s leading teaching pros, as well as one of the most dynamic coaches in the country, amassing an incredible 100,000 subscribers to his popular YouTube channel. An Advanced PGA Professional, he is also widely known for his media work with Bunkered magazine where he is one of their teaching panel, and has developed the innovative ‘Eureka Golf Swing’ which has attracted pupils from all over the world.
Ailsa Murphy
Ailsa is a former Scottish Girls Champion and former Scotland Girls international, who joined the Coaching Team in July 2021, having done her PGA training at Gullane Golf Team. A qualified PGA professional, Ailsa offers individual and group coaching, and runs regular junior coaching, women’s and seniors group sessions at the club. Ailsa is also the Manager of our Pro Shop, and is on hand to offer advice on buying clubs, equipment and custom fitting.
