The Peebles Gents Open took place on Sunday 2 July. The course was in terrific condition but a combination of blustery winds and heavy showers made the scoring challenging.
Defending champion Jamie Morris took the scratch title once again in the 'A' class with a one-over par 71 to make amends for his early championship exit, three shots clear of West Linton;s Marc Sadler. Tom Lister produced an excellent nett 66 to lift top prize in the 'A' handicap section, three shots clear of Mortonhall's Michael Everden.
In the 'B' division, Gordon Turner from West Linton earned first place in the scratch with a fine 80, while Cardrona's Ian Crawford pipped home favourite Lawrence Forrest to win the handicap top prize after both carded superb nett 64s.
