A washout at Carnwath

The Peebles team arrived at Carnwath in good spirits despite the gloomy weather forecast. Everything started out so well as the players scoffed not one but TWO hot rolls and coffee. Even the weather behaved itself as we all teed off. However, when the first group reached the 9th hole, the heavens opened. The course quickly became saturated and the greens flooded. Play was abandoned and 24 very soggy golfers retreated to the clubhouse for an early lunch!

Once again there were no half measures at Carnwath as we all devoured a TWO course lunch!

We look forward to welcoming the Carnwath team to Peebles for the return match in August when we promise them glorious sunshine!
