Torwoodlee Match report

The Peebles team entertained Torwoodlee on a very hot and sunny day - in stark contrast to the torrential rain and gale force winds of the previous weeks!

We welcomed another two debutants to our ranks - Les Hilton and Eric Mapp.

Peebles were out of the traps very quickly and won the first 3 games. Torwoodlee then won game 4 before Peebles ensured an unassailable lead by winning game 5. Game 6 proved to be the tightest contest of the day and resulted in being all square.

Overall match score: Peebles 4 and a half - Torwoodlee 1 and a half.

All players enjoyed glorious weather, an exceptionally well presented course, excellent catering and refreshing bottles of cold water on the 10th tee ( thank you Stuart Pender! )
