Carnwath match report

After our away match was abandoned due to extremely heavy rain, we welcomed Carnwath to a sunny and warm Peebles.
The matches between Peebles and Carnwath are always keenly contested affairs and this season’s encounter was no exception.
Carnwath were out of the traps quickly and secured narrow victories in both games 1 & 2. However the home team restored parity by winning games 3 & 4.
Game 5 was a tense affair with Peebles securing a half point on the 18th green.
With the match result in the balance the final Peebles pairing of Keith Ackerman and Ian Campbell finished things off in style with a 3 & 2 victory.

Overall match score Peebles 3 and a half points : Carnwath 2 and a half points.

Once again, the match was played in a very friendly spirit and we look forward to our 2 fixtures with our South Lanarkshire neighbours next season.

That’s the last of our home fixtures for this year although we now look forward to 4 away matches to complete our season.
